Georgia Section On My Mind

January, 2002

Greetings! Hope the new year has been treating you all well so far. Here's a couple of news briefs:

First, from BRENNON PRICE, N4QX..... He's getting the 2002-2003 ARRL Repeater Directory together now, so if any of you have made any changes in the operating parameters of your repeaters, (callsign, PL tone, etc.) be aware that SERA must be notified of these changes as soon as possible if you want the correct information to appear in the new directory. All data that gets published in the directory is provided by the frequency coordinators, so the information that they have at the end of January is the information that will be published.

Also, to clarify the information on the GEORGIA SPECIAL OLYMPICS, they will be held on January 25th, 26th, and 27th. While most of the venues will be in Cobb county, there will be one in Fulton county, as well. Amateur radio operators are needed to provide communications between the venues, key staff, and the command room. If you can help, please get in touch with the Communications Director, TODD BOWDEN, AF4CZ, at af4cz@yahoo.com.

The response to my first efforts at putting out a section news bulletin has been overwhelming, and I thank each of you who took the time to write. Thanks for all of the terrific tidbits of news that you've been sending this way, too. I really appreciate it. The next bulletin should be chock-full of goodies, thanks to you.
